5 Truths for Today

Some days I must remind myself of truth and preach it to my own soul, over and over and over again. Some days the truth is easy to receive and other days I need to preach it to my soul on repeat.

No matter what kind of day you are having the five truths below are always great reminders.

“the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”

Jeremiah 31:3

Truth #1: You are loved. Whether you feel loved, feel deserving of love, or loveable…you are loved.

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 4:16

Truth #2: There is grace for that. Whatever you “that” moment is today, there is grace for it. Grace for the mistakes, the falling short, the inadequacies, the exhaustion, feelings of being overwhelmed and everything in between. God’s grace is sufficient for you.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

Truth #3: It’s not up to you to do it all or be it all. There is no perfect mom, wife, woman, friend. She is an illusion. Be yourself, weakness and all, and allow God to do what He wants to do through you.

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6

Truth #4: He’s working in the midst of the situation. Whatever it is your facing, financial struggle, marital stress, relationships on the rocks, career crisis, wayward children, you fill in the blank with your situation…whatever it is, God is still working in the midst of it.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear for be in dread fo them, for it is the Lord your God who does with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Truth #5: You are not alone. There are many promises in Scripture, but one to hold on to is God’s ever presence with us. We need never fear being alone, because He is faithful and will always be with us.

I’m preaching these truths to myself and I hope they encourage you as they do me.
