ABOUT

Hello Friends!

I’m just a girl living in a world full of boys. My husband and I live in SW Florida where we raise our three little boys and spend our days pouring into the lives of those in our community.

Community. Christ. Coffee.

You’ll hear me talk about those topics a lot. I love Jesus, and I love building relationships with others over a cup of coffee and a good breakfast panini.

When not homeschooling children or driving them to swim practice, I spend my time doing women’s ministry in my local church, working on my Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in Christian Studies and building a business with my handsome engineer of a husband.

How Did I Get Here?

As an English teacher by profession who stayed home for years to raise boys, I believe nothing is wasted in the economy of God. Knowing I wanted to be present with my people, but also had gifts and talents given to me by God for a purpose, I began to ask God how to use what was in my hands for His glory. So I began to write devotionals for Lifeway’s Journey Magazine several years ago as a freelance writer. God began to open doors for more freelance work. In time I began editing, writing and blogging.

Girlfriends in the Word ™ became a project God laid on my heart to assist women in doing affordable, relevant, encouraging and sustaining Bible study as a discipline in their lives. The 20 minutes a day for 20 days a month system going through specific topics geared for a women’s life has resonated with women who wanted to dive deeper than their verse a day devotional, but didn’t have an hour to commit to study each day.

I love speaking and teaching women’s events. Building community, both online and in person, make my heart soar. As we unite together over our similarities we strengthen the church.
