There’s this thing called “platform” in the writing/speaking world….I have a love/hate relationship with the word. Publishers and agents use it to describe how many “followers” a person has. In a marketing aspect I TOTALLY understand why it’s important. As a teacher of the Word, it really doesn’t matter. I’m not in this for “followers of Natalia” I’m nothing worth following. I want people to be “followers of Jesus.”
You see, sometimes I get on here and I am aware no one may read the post. Which is cool. Because I don’t write these blog posts to please people. I write because I don’t know how to live without doing it. It’s who I am. It’s what He’s called me to do. So I write. I speak. I teach. My “platform” can be One for the rest of my days and I will count that success.
Don’t get me wrong, I love hearing how my messy words can bring life and joy to your world. I really do. I often get texts and messages from y’all about some post I wrote, and it BLESSES me to no end. God gifts me the joy of using my mess and transforming it into His message of grace. But if no one ever read another post, I’d still write them.
However, the “need” for platform (and I use the word need loosely, because really all I need is Jesus, He’s the one doing the real work) has motivated me to get to work on projects I have wanted to do, have known He has asked me to do, and well, I’ve just kinda procrastinated.
I have this terrible combination of perfectionism and procrastination. I can have a great idea, but if I can’t implement it perfectly, well I procrastinate. It’s terrible. I’m working on it….slowly. Cause you know, I procrastinate.
God has kinda kicked my butt into gear, He’s good about doing that! So, I’m super excited to announce a NEW EMAIL DEVOTIONAL SERIES is available to everyone who stops by the site!!!! YEP! It’s yours, it’s free, and it’s pretty! But more than all of that, it’s Truth.
I spent a lot of time struggling with my womanhood. How am I supposed to behave? What is my role in the church? How can I be strong willed and outspoken while still being submissive? How do I merge my God given personality with God’s Word? So after not finding sufficient answers in culture, and not being able to find answers in myself, well I turned to God’s Word. {Yes, I know I should have started there first. I’m a work in progress remember?!?!} And what I found, as I studied (and still study) the women of the Bible makes me SOOOOO excited! So I wanted to share that with you!
IF you want these free devotional study e-mails, all you have to do is click on the image button below and you’ll get a form. Fill it out and you’ll start getting some instant e-mails!!!!
